High School Program & Youth Academy

Summer is the perfect time for young singers to experience focused, immersive vocal training*. Now in partnership with the 32 Years successful International Lyric Academy, the Youth Academy’s Summer Workshop offers an immersion like no other program! Join us for 2 weeks of learning and performing led by internationally acclaimed instructors and top university faculty. You can be in Italy also!

The program’s curriculum includes:

- private lessons

- master classes

- repertory

- coaching

- elementary stage combat

- physical expression

- care of the voice

For select students, participation in concerts, opera scenes, and fully staged operas will be offered (requires an extra week of participation).

Singers benefit from repertoire and diction coaching, Italian language instruction, master classes, acting, training for auditions, and career strategy.

AUDITION REPERTOIRE: Singers: Two Italian arias or art songs. One piece must be sung in Italian; a second piece in Italian or in another language of your choice. Apply Now

WORKSHOP AUDITION & ENROLLMENT: New students must audition/apply and be accepted into the program before they may register. Auditions are held both virtually and in-person.  Please complete the Application Form to set your audition.

 

Previous Workshop participants may register immediately for the 2024 Workshop and do not need to audition. Please contact the Academy Coordinator to register if you are a returning student.

AUDITION REQUIREMENT: 

- Completion of the Application form

- 2 pieces performed – must be classical, art song, or musical theatre (no pop songs), contrasting styles & languages preferred if available

IN ITALY: $3500 includes two-week hotel with roommates, breakfast, but does not include airfare and meals  (Arrive in Italy at Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) July 5 and depart from Venice July 19)

IN USA: $3800 includes two-week hotel with roommates, breakfast, but does not include airfare and meals  (Arrive in Charlotte at the Airport (CLT) June 15 and depart from Charlotte June 29)​

IN USA & ITALY: $6000 includes four-week  hotel with roommates, breakfast, but does not include airfare and meals  (June 15 - June 29 / July 5 - July 19)
